Traditional Paruppu thenga koodu (Pair) - Meenakari design

A Paruppu Thengai Koodu (also commonly referred to as Paruppu Thengai) is a traditional, cone-shaped container and ceremonial offering deeply rooted in South Indian culture. It is a staple element at auspicious lifecycle ceremonies such as weddings, engagement ceremonies , baby showers, housewarmings, and milestone birthdays.

Because modern versions are built to be reusable and aesthetically striking, families repurpose them to add a touch of regal South Indian heritage and traditional elegance to home pooja rooms, festive display shelves, or living room accent tables.

Symbolism:
The pair of cones traditionally represents the bride and groom (or the couple hosting the ritual). The sweets packed tightly inside symbolize fertility, sweetness in the relationship, and a prosperous future for the family and any children.

Over time, this evolved into an elaborate art form and ritual gift (seer). During a ceremony, the decorated cones are placed near the sacred fire or altar as an offering to invoke divine blessings for abundance and good health. Once the rituals conclude, the sweet contents are broken apart and distributed as prasad (holy offering) to relatives and guests.

It is made out of stainless steel and beautifully decked up with meenakari work from the outside.
